We love talking about great cheese almost as much as we love eating it. So what a perfect way for us to spread that love (and the cheese) – Marché’s ongoing series of classes designed to widen your appreciation for all things fromage. Designed for the novice to the cheese whiz, our structured yet informal classes are approximately 90 minutes, include a course outline, tasting notes and plenty of sampling.
Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 23rd for an amazing day trip to Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery in Champaign, Illinois. This farm and farmstead creamery, owned by Wes Jarrell and Leslie Cooperband, makes artisan, farmstead goat cheeses and goat milk gelato from its herd of 80 milking goats. Our day will start at Marché with an 8:30 sharp departure time on a luxurious coach bus. En route to Champaign, a light continental breakfast will be served. When we arrive at Prairie Fruits Farm, we will start with a tour of the farm featuring all the wonderful aspects of the farm and cheesemaking operations. Then we'll sit down to a farm to table lunch (yes, wine will be served with lunch!) cooked with many ingredients coming from the farm or surrounding farms. Afterwards, you can feel free to wander the farm, make friends with the goats, or visit the shop. At 3:30 the bus will board for the journey home and we will be back in Glen Ellyn between 5:30 and 6 pm. The all-inclusive
