Marché Classes

We love talking about great cheese almost as much as we love eating it. So what a perfect way for us to spread that love (and the cheese) – Marché’s ongoing series of classes designed to widen your appreciation for all things fromage. Designed for the novice to the cheese whiz, our structured yet informal classes are approximately 90 minutes, include a course outline, tasting notes and plenty of sampling.

2/13/2018 7:30 – 9 pm Session 3 Marché 103: DIY Cheese Making

Third in the series, a hands-on class that puts your knowledge to work and allows you to dive into the basics of making fresh cheeses. You will have the chance to make fresh ricotta or fresh mozzarella in our lower level work space and receive the recipes and instructions to recreate them at home. It doesn't get any fresher than that! Class includes a cheese tasting with a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks.

Wednesday, 2/14/2018 7:30 – 9:00 pm Cheesy Valentine’s Date Night

And by cheesy, we mean it in the best sense! Bring your significant other for a casual evening of cheese and charcuterie, cheese fondue and chocolate + cheese truffles - all served with our cheese-friendliest wines and beers by our cheese mongers ready to answer your cheesiest questions. Roll up your sleeves and prepare to turn curds into creamy, fresh mozzarella and burrata. We'll look at the process of turning milk into curds, and then you'll stretch and pull your own into luscious balls of cheesy goodness. You'll leave with your own creation and the knowledge to recreate the process at home. Includes a fresh cheese tasting with a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks.

Sip and swirl with guest instructor Stacey Cortez, "The Wine Diva", as she uncorks the perplexities of selecting, tasting and appreciating great wines. You'll gain her infectious enthusiasm and a new understanding of basic wine terms such as "body" and "balance", primary grape varietals, and New World versus Old World styles with the knowledge to confidently select your next bottle. And of course, we'll provide a curated sampling of cheeses to enjoy with your tastings.

Let our team of cheesemongers guide you through the steps of designing your cheese boards with artistry and ease. We'll look at cheese selections, how much to buy, accompaniments and presentation possibilities - from appetizer boards and after-dinner plates to a complete lunch or dinner. And of course, we'll taste and sample our way through several recommendations.
